Then in collaboration with the owner. we'll create a straightforward plan to resolve the issue and set things right.

EXPERIENCE SAVES TIME, MONEY AND MISTAKES
My Story
I started out as a carpenter and joiner — working with my hands, building furniture, and learning the value of craftsmanship and pride in a job well done. At 22, I joined our small family construction business, and by 28, I found myself running it.
Those early years were full of challenges — long hours, tight budgets, and steep learning curves — but they taught me everything about business, people, and persistence. Over time, I grew that modest family firm into a thriving, third-generation main contracting company turning over more than £14 million a year, employing over 50 incredible people, with offices in Bishop’s Stortford and Cambridge.

In 2018, I stepped back from the day-to-day, handing the reins to my five sons — one of my proudest moments. I moved into a chairman and mentoring role, and set up Carmelcrest Homes, a property development and investment company that’s now run by two of my sons and holds a growing portfolio across the Midlands.

With more space in my life, I found myself drawn to something new — helping other business owners and families achieve their own success. After more than 35 years in business, I’ve learned that real growth starts with personal growth. Business systems, strategy, and skills matter — but it’s who we become that determines how far we can go.

Today, I mentor entrepreneurs and family-run businesses, helping them build strong, sustainable companies — and lives they’re proud of.
I’m a lifelong learner at heart. I’ve earned my stripes as a Chartered Builder, Chartered Surveyor, NLP Master Practitioner, and even a qualified personal trainer. I’ve written three books, including 50 Skills – The Entrepreneur’s Handbook and The School Leavers Guide to Money.

My philosophy is simple: “If you want more, you have to become more.” It’s the lesson that’s guided my whole journey — from the workshop floor to the boardroom — and now it’s what I love passing on to others.
